[How-To] [Vlog 013] How To Quick Fix an Exhaust Leak On YouTube.
Just another day, decided to patch up a hole in the exhaust of my car and then car wash The stuff I used is called Quick Steel and I bought from Walmart for a few bucks. Works pretty good. *update (3/24/2008) I just drove from Georgia to Virginia 8.5 hours, the seal is still in place and my gas mileage is doing good. So this putty is actually exceeding my expectation.
The 2012 Nissan GT-R has been developed under the theme of the 'World's best multi-performance and pleasure of responsive driving'. The exterior features more strength and stability, while the traditional creative flair associated with the GT-R's striking appearance has also been updated, to offer improved aerodynamics. A sportier interior complements the enhanced design. Engine output is significantly improved to 530PS (390KW)/6400rpm, with the maximum torque of 612Nm from 3200 to 6000 rpm. The engine cover is, enigmatically, painted red to illustrate its enhanced performance. By adopting an ultra-low precious metal catalyst and an engine control module fitted with high-capacity microprocessors, cleaner emissions have been achieved. Fuel economy has also been improved by modifying the boost pressure of the turbocharger, valve timing and air mixture ratio along with larger diameter inlet pipes and a modified exhaust system. SAVE mode is a newly-adopted system, replacing 'snow Mode', which optimises driving torque and modifies the gearshift schedule to improve fuel economy when driving on motorways or open roads. The features of Snow Mode are also retained. Standing start performance can now be maximized through the use of R mode. To activate, the driver must select R mode, depress the brake whilst in gear, apply full throttle and release the brake as soon as possible. The system will monitor oil temperatures to ensure reliability is maintained and prevent further use if ...

DEF Dispensing System - A Component for Maintaining DEF Quality
A critical system which is used for maintaining DEF quality is the dispensing system. For diesel exhaust fluid there are two vital types of dispensing systems.
1. Open dispensing system
2. Closed dispensing system
Pros and Cons of Open dispensing system
In an open system the DEF container is not sealed from external contaminants at the time of one or more usage. For instance, during filling, dispensing, transporting or disposal the system is not sealed. In a typical open DEF dispensing system, you will find a drum pump installed along with a stinger or stick type dip tube.
Pro: It is a reusable system thus does not add much cost to the container package. Well if along with the container stinger is also shipped then this solution becomes quite expensive thus only suitable for reusable applications.
Con: In this type of system you will find an unfiltered venting path open to environment and on the other had dispensing provide a likely potential source of DEF contamination. You should also keep in mind that at the time of container changing the stinger must be removed. This task is cumbersome, messy and opens a way for the DEF to be contaminated. Initially this system cost high.
Closed dispensing system
In a closed dispensing system, during the transport, dispensing and disposal phase of the container life cycle the container is sealed. In a typical closed system you can see a dip-tube or drum inserted at the DEF packaging facility. Till the end user facility the dip tube travels along with the container. Then to fulfill the dispensing purpose a coupler or dispense head is connected on site to the dip tube. You should also use a camlock coupling to make the fitting airtight.
To keep it completely tight, a filtered venting port need to be incorporated to the coupler as to protect it from airborne particles from entering the container at the time of dispensing. This also allows the fumes to escape in the environment.
Thus these are the two main types of DEF dispensing equipment. Now depending on your usability you can choose the one benefiting you. But before going for anyone you should have complete details about it. Having good knowledge will help you to operate it wisely and also your thing would not be damaged. This is because operating anything without its complete knowledge may lead to damage which may cost you high. So now it depends which is perfect as per your requirement.

This Chevy Pickup Won't Run - It Tries To, But It Just Won't Start!
If you happen to have a GM product made in the 70's I have a tip for you if it starts slowing down, getting less fuel mileage, or just refuses to start.
At the independent shop I worked at we had a 1972 Chevy pickup pulled in...It wouldn't start, it cranked ok, but the engine wouldn't start up and run.
Naturally, we tuned it: points, plugs, condenser, wires, rotor, and distributor cap.
No change...it just cranked...didn't even act like it wanted to start...I figured it must just be tired.
The man I worked for had been in this business for the past 35 years.
He overhauled the carburetor and replaced the fuel filter.
No change.
The customer came up, and told us that it had been using a lot more gas and oil of late, so suggested we just rebuild the engine.
We did.
No change...now this was getting embarrassing.
This was a 350 small block engine...it had a cross-over exhaust pipe...
as each pipe came from the exhaust manifold, they came together just under the cab, and only one pipe went out under the truck...with the muffler and tail pipe.
My boss told me to disconnect the exhaust from each manifold.
I did, and guess what?
The engine started, it made a heck-of-a-lot of noise, but it was running.
Mr. J. told me to take the hack-saw and cut the exhaust pipe into, just down from the flange that connects to the manifold.
You won't believe what I found.
The exhaust pipe had a liner in it...In other words, the exhaust pipe was two pipes in one.
The inner pipe had separated and had closed off the flow of exhaust...choking the engine.
When the exhaust can't escape, the engine won't start and run...like putting a potato inside the tail pipe...I saw that in a movie one time.
We replaced the exhaust manifold cross over pipe, from the manifold to the muffler, and the vehicle ran just great.
This was a fairly expensive procedure, and not a normal job, but no one, not even the techs at the dealership, knew that GM had put the double-pipe on their vehicles at this time.
Note: A catalytic converter will stop up and cause the same problem on newer vehicles.

What Chevrolet Silverado Custom Exhaust Performs The Best?
This blog is more information to help the consumer pick and choose the best exhaust for their later model Chevrolet Silverado. I will mainly focus on the model ranges from 1999-2008(New Body). There are so many new brands and applications to help make that new pickup rumble, there's nothing like a marquee street presence. I will also go over what you will need to know to comply with your local emissions laws.
The primary function of your exhaust system is to dispel gases being produced by your engine. The stock factory setup is always unappealing to look at, how they sound, and how restrictive they can be to the performance of your ride. A more free flowing system can enhance horsepower and torque. And make the change good enough that you wouldn't be obligated to squander thousands of dollars for supercharges and modified engines that may or may not pass local emissions.
There are a couple variables when trying to choose the right system. Is there a price budget you had in mind? Do you want something with deep sound, or maybe a small subdued rumble will suffice? And lastly, would you want dual pipes or maybe a swept side catback will do? Everything just questioned is more or less preference, there are numerous applications that help out.
Dealer installed or aftermarket? Sure you pay more for the dealer installed exhaust, but usually these systems are backed by the dealer or the company that installed them. Plus you wouldn't have to hassle with doing it yourself and taking time out of your busy schedule to get it done. With aftermarket, you can get any customized application you prefer and use any brand that you want, this would be my choice. A huge plus is the aftermarket installation is also worlds cheaper.
What brands are there in the market? There are a lot of manufacturers that have quality systems for various budgets. Want great quality? Borla, Corsa, and Bassani might be the choice for you. Want something affordable? Then maybe Flowmaster, Edelbrock, or Hedman is the one for you. The one I can say is, all of these companies have an established reputation for quality and reliability. The website below will most certainly provide closer specs and available applications for your Chevrolet Silverado.
Food Service & Hospitality Industries Proper Planning For Ventilation Systems
No doubt about it when it comes to ventilation and venting systems there are no shortage of vent hood types or options. Still when it comes down to function and functionality certain basic functions and considerations come into play. It all comes down in the end to a number of factors - specific use and needs, logistics and often cost.
When completing the workup for ventilation exhaust systems always remember that if the system is substandard and shortcuts are made for ease or cost - that it is no bargain in the end. After completion the whole exercise may be termed a waste and new management or owners may have to redo the whole system again - in addition to removal of the older system along with inconvenience and other costs. For example some time ago, and before the anti-tobacco stop smoking in public places craze - a donut shop chain opened up. Even though they did what they thought was a thorough workup job, a substandard ventilation system was planned for and installed. You would have thought that just the sight of customers and patrons smoking with their cup of coffee would have alerted the planners and designers to the need for more than basic ventilation system workup as part of their planning. Perhaps it was in retrospect was that the experience of their competitors led those firms to overcompensate with more than overcapacity of exhaust ventilation and that the crew doing the heating and cooling system planning did not notice the cigarette smoke fumes - as they had been reduced and eliminated to a low concentration due to the large scale systems in place.
Regardless the competitive donut shop group plowed ahead. The results were that even if staff at the donut shops propped open the front and rear doors with chairs - that you would of that the donut shop was in the middle of a major forest fire with plumes of smoke in the air. As a result the restaurants were not inviting to patrons, they stayed away. In addition winter heating and summer air conditioning costs were way above projections. In the end the chain packed up shop and closed.
In the end when dealing with heating and ventilation exhaust system planning and forethought are key.
